For the longest time, I've ignored sports anime, and stuck to my comfortzone, Fantasy anime.
But after an urge to look for a good anime to watch again, Haikyuu would always pop up.
Because of its rating, and because of an very fun memorable volleyball scene from
my favorite anime, HunterXHunter, I decided to give it a go.
And I'm happy I did, it was very good and got me interested in volleyball, and an urge to play myself.
It also brough me futher into another sports anime, like "Running with the wind" that motivated me to
start running again after 3 years of gained weight and not exercising.
I realized how strong impact anime has on motivation. Before I was always very idealistic in the way I thought.
With shows like the big 3 (Naruto, Bleach and One Piece) would boost this inner idealist with good vibes and "spirit".
However, it wouldn't channel anything directly into action. Yet sports anime is something that does exactly this,
which literally makes your life more healthy and active, if you embrace this new found inspiration.
Lasty, It also reminds me of a friend I used to have 10 years ago. He was an avid anime watcher, and I'd just started gotten into it.
I remember I got bafflled, when he suddently started to play baseball of all things. (Baseball is almost non-existent in my country, Norway)
However, I finally understand why he started! Sports anime kicks you into activity and healthy lifestyle, which is something amazing!
Hope this inspires someone to start being more active, or give sports anime a try.
Because it's so much fun and challenges your inner self with external stimulation that brings forth health!
