This blog is an appreciation post of Shinichi Kudo because it's his birthday today! So, I'm going to talk about things I love about this dorktective.
First of all and the most important one: I love the way he loves Ran. Always willing to give his life just to protect her. His love is so pure but so profound at the same time it makes me wish something similar for me too (difficult to find in real life but oh well hope he was real lol).
Second, I love how he sees the world, how he pursues the truth in every case he is involved but mostly his strong sense of justice (Same trait he shares with Ran imo).
Third, I love the way he treats the Detective Boys. Always concerned about their safety first, like a father figure in a body of a 7 year-old boy but at the same time being so childish and playful with them that it makes me forget he’s a high school detective.
Fourth, his friendship with Hattori is everything. No need for explanation lol BROTP BEECH.
Fifth, his friendship with Sonoko too (how can we forget about that? Petition for more interactions in the future Gosho pleaseee) because some people really think he isn’t that close to Sonoko and that sometimes he barely can stand her, but I’m pretty sure he really cares about her and not only because of Ran, but because she is also his childhood friend.
Ok the point is: His relationship with all his friends and family (including Yukiko, Takagi!, Kazuha, Kogoro and more). Here, I want to point specially how he helped Haibara and decided to trust her even with her past. He gave her a helping hand (with akase) in her worst times and made her to appreciate life again :) Their sibling like relationship is beautiful.
Basically, I love the way he is always taking care of his friends and family (we dont talk about that a lot). Remember that time he was concern as hell when Hattori fell off that ship? or all the times Sonoko was in danger? Or that time when the DB were trapped in that cabin? I mean did you see him? He REALLY cares. He’s willing to put his life at risk for them (sometimes even for strangers) and here we come back to the second point:
His sense of justice and ethic.
And this is a trait I love to see in characters (cough Captain America cough Wonder Woman cough Ran Mouri cough).
I remember the moonlight sonata case or the case with Akemi (actually I’m thinking about a lot of cases right now, but I’ll mention this two because these are in everybody’s mind) when he risks his life to save both of them even if they are culprits (the same way Ran does with Vermouth, oh god, soulmates). He tries to make them feel less guilty, trying to make them realize they can have a life to redeem themselves. At those moment he shows that he isn’t just smart and rational, but empathethic and human.
To resume all, he is a good boy, a great human being with flaws and virtues just like us :) (A little bit of an idiot sometimes but hey! he is still a teenage)
AND I LOVE HIM.
