jfc this episode seriously stressed me out
seriously reminded me too much of my old college days, the second hellish half where I would cry in the school restroom of the engineering building like every day and have a panic attack because even the first day of school gave me anxiety
thank god those days are long over and I graduated... But I still have a lot of mental scars and PTSD over all the shit that went down in college, especially my ex-boyfriend who never bought me things and still owes me like $500 and was the main person who introduced me to my rival but I won't say anymore about any of that
Ikuto was constantly put in a corner, and then when he turned and ran somewhere else, he found himself in an even tighter corner... I felt so bad for him; I just wanted to give him a hug
His sisters are really... bitchy though. I really dislike how women are represented in media, and Japanese anime is no different. But that's what happens when men who clearly hate women write scripts.... ugh
But ugh I can't help but feel like they really made the female main lead genuinely unlikable on purpose idk I seriously find her annoying...
But the ending of this episode seriously thank god... if they were going to give us a shit cliffhanger, I think most people would have probably dropped this anime by now
So basically this anime episode this week is like "It's always darkest before the dawn."

SPOILERS SUMMARY OF THIS ENTIRE EPISODE (bc if I don't write it down, I'm certain to forget all of it)
So the mother was sickly and had to be rushed to the operating room
The mother... uhm essentially wrote a will for Ikuto and his younger sisters
Mother survived but Ikuto has no idea how to pay the medical bills
That gray haired asshole was willing to pay for Ikuto's mothers medical bills, but 1) I didn't want Ikuto to work for an asshole and 2) I think it was implied that Ikuto was just going to be a patternmaker??? ugh
Then Kokoro's manager comes up to Ikuto says she hired a private investigator to see what was going on in Ikuto's life, and then the manager says she will pay Ikuto enough for his mother's medical bills and for the festival, if he tells Kokoro to stop being a designer and to be in his show instead
OF COURSE HE WOULDN'T TAKE THAT OFFER MY GOD what the fuck kind of monster WOULD
Putting a price on someone else's dream like that... AND taking advantage of someone poor and seriously scrambling and desperate for money... that's messed up
The first one though... I don't know... It'd be hard and painful to give up on his dreams, but he seriously needs the money. But my god he'd be working for an asshole and Ikuto would end up being a pattern maker when he should really be getting more experience in designing
The second one though MY GOD... Kokoro's heart seriously isn't into modeling, and it seriously shows... She loves designing... It's almost like (well I don't know for certain, this is just a guess and I'm just assuming that) Kokoro's manager is just that abusive and is forcing Kokoro into modeling...
I didn't say it last week, but it must seriously suck to think about how Chiyuki was right next to Kokoro at the end of the episode, and they were clearly opposites... Chiyuki so badly wants to be a model, but she's so short at 5'1"... And Kokoro is really tall but seriously has no interest in modeling what so ever...
Anyway I'm glad this seriously insanely stressful episode got a happy ending and I do recall privileged Chiyuki's father literally saying in episode 1, episode 2 -ish that he owes Ikuto a favor... 2 MILLION YEN YES!! thank god honestly
