This time I seriously MADE SURE I put in eggs for sure
Oh yeah not sure if I mentioned it last time but the first time I made Chocolate Devils Food Cake and I seriously miserably failed at it BUT that first time was also the first time I ever used a hand mixer!!! My mom bought it... She said she would use it herself but of course as always she never got around to using it and I ended up using it for all my baking needs so lol

Tried the raw batter, even though I know you're not supposed to lol but I'm sure everyone does so lol
The raw batter this time around... surprisingly didn't taste all that different from the first time... powdery, but a lot less, if that makes sense. I barely tasted the eggs
Oh and btw I was so mortified and traumatized ptsd war flashbacks about how I forgot eggs last time that I ended up putting in FOUR eggs instead of three
That's mostly because my mon yesterday bought three cartons of brown eggs and when I looked at them, I pretty much realized they're half the size of the white eggs we have at home so I ended up using two big white eggs and two small brown eggs soo yeah I think I should be okay
Something I noticed now when I poured the batter today was that I should have found it weird that last time, the batter would just... stick into the pan... wouldn't move. I thought it had something to do with the mix... But this time around it poured so smoothly into the pans like it always does with the other cakes so yeah. Safe to say I really learned my lesson here.

It's so moist that the slice on my plate even almost slips off the plate sometimes lol

lol ok maybe this cake was also kind of ... a failure? lol
Because I added four eggs before, right? Because I thought the small brown eggs were too small... Maybe I should have just added three eggs after all..
I mean ok maybe it's not a failure, I mean, it's very edible, so that's already much better than the last cake
But this cake is... lol a little TOO moist
I don't know man I just don't know lol

Unfortunately, I don't really plan on making this cake again though, or at least sometime soon
lol tbh the only reason I made this cake was that my aunt and/or my female cousins... I think it was my aunt... She baked a moist chocolate cake AND IT WAS SOO fucking moist omg I loved it... I loved her cake so much, but ugh I'm so sorry Auntie but the frosting seriously made me so sick!!! I got a headache and everything
imo at least as far as American brands for baking go ALWAYS TRUST THE PILLSBURY DOUGH BOY the betty crocker one is gross... My mom used to adore betty crocker but tbh she has no idea how to bake so don't trust her with baking much??? lol but when I was a kid, I remember we used to get these ... I don't know what you call them... cookie batter packets??? and we baked those and those were betty crocker... can't remember how they tasted like though tbh
I'm guessing my aunt used... Duncan something for her chocolate cake... frosting no idea but the frosting made me sick so who cares ahaa uhh lol
Betty Crocker doesn't taste like that...
Also yeah the fact that my aunt gave us a chocolate moist cake (Maybe it was chocolate devil's food cake I don't really know quite honestly lol... also lol sorry for calling this Chocolate Devil's Food Cake all the time... I'm actually under the impression all devils cake are chocolate-flavored, or the default flavor is anyway lol... I'm just trying to reiterate it in my head as much as possible to ingrain the association... devils cake, chocolate... devils cake chocolate...)
Anyway yeah basically my aunt's giving us a chocolate moist cake is the reason I wanted to make my own!!! So there!! hahaha xD

Overall, I guess I'd call this a victory! My Devil's Food Cake~! <3
My parents are seriously so busy running around that they stopped by at home just to drop off some things and then they said we have no money lol (they also implied no time either but they didn't have time to say that so lol)
My mom got two slices of cake, one for her, one for my dad, and then said thank you to me and told me that was their lunches so uhm lol yay?
I guess we are that poor after all lol jk
Also my mom tried a little of the cake before heading out and I asked if she liked it and she said it's good!!! So I guess it's really a victory after all!! <3
Next time if I ever get around to baking this again, I'll be sure to try it with three small brown eggs only just to see how they turn out tbh lol
But ugh! Honestly though, chocolate frosting on a chocolate cake is just waay too sweet AND WAY TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE did I ever mention that I actually don't like chocolate all that much? like lol

Next time, I really want to bake peach cobbler... Y-You bake that, right? I don't actually know tbh... I think you bake it... lol
I want to bake (bake?) one, because the STEM teacher (lol i love how he's called The STEM teacher like what subject does he even teach really? All of STEM? seriously? lmaoo lol)
Anyway I want to bake a peach cobbler, because in one episode the STEM teacher from High School Musical: The Musical The Series, the STEM teacher is eating a cobbler... And then it made me think back to when I was younger like 9, at a community college for some kind of food expo event or something with my mom idk if my dad was there probably he was... And my mom gave me a peach cobbler and seriously it was the best thing I ever had ever!! It was so warm and loving and everything ... I still remember it to this day...
I'd seriously love to make one of those one day... I have no idea how hard it is to bake though... Or if you even bake it, hey let's be honest here lol

I think I should really stop wanting to bake things, only because I've seen other people do it. But... I don't know!! It's fun!!!
The other baking thing I want to try is... banana bread!
Actually, we have all the ingredients at home. We bought them weeks ago... My mom doesn't want me to use banana bread baking mix, because they use too many chemicals or something like that lol
And looking at the back of the Pillsbury one yeah, the... the directions seem pretty suspicious to me idk
Maybe I watched too much... The Great British Bake Off (I'm sorry I don't remember what the name of this is... Also the US has a different name for the show; I don't know why)
But I know you have to... uhh... I don't know... what's the word?? You have to wait for it to rise or something
The pillsbury directions just says mix and put it into the oven; I agree with my mother on this one; that just seems so suspicious to me or something lol
You also don't knead the pillbury bread iirc, and I find that seriously strange too
