Kyoto Animation Fire

I wrote this over on mydramalist before I made my account here, but here are the basic updates about the Kyoto Animation fire if you're not all caught up: Regarding the suspect: the suspect was a man named Shinji Aoba, who was in his 40s, who had claimed that KyoAni had stolen the ideas in a novel that he submitted to a yearly contest that KyoAni held. KyoAni confirmed that they did receive a submission from him with his address, but the said submission was rejected due to it not qualifying their standards. Aoba is also reported to have a criminal history, as he spent three years in jail for a robbery at a convenience store with a knife in 2012, and also had noise complaints filed on him by neighbors last year. Regarding donations: Sentai Filmworks' fundraiser is now at $2.4 million USD and is no longer accepting donations. Kyoto Animation themselves has set up a fund as well. Official counts on the donations for Kyoto Animation is over $10 million dollars. X Japan's (Japanese Visual Kei band) frontman and creator, Yoshiki, donated over $10,000 USD to the cause. In total, the donations seem like more than enough for the studio to get a fresh start. Regarding the studio's projects at the time of the arson, it seems they were able to recover all or almost all of the data in the servers, so, many of the scheduled releases may still be out on time - Violet Evergarden's film is set to release as promised. Regarding the victims: they have identified 11 of the victims and are now releasing their names. As of now, they are still identifying 25 victims and will not release their names due to either DNA testing or privacy of the victims and their families. At the time of writing, only ten names are released, as these victims have been laid to rest and the families have given permission to the police to release names. For those who want a quick list of all the names released, here it is (will be updated if there are any updates): Junnichi Ida Yuuki Oumura Yuka Kasama Yoshiji Kigami Ami Kuriki Yasuhiro Takemoto Sachie Tsuda Futoshi Nishiya Mikiko Watanabe Yasuhiro Takemoto If you want an in-detail description of what each person had a hand in creating and bringing to life) that have been released so far here: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-08-02/kyoto-police-release-names-of-10-victims-who-died-in-kyoto-animation-fire/.149629 (note that this article pre-dates the confirmation of Yasuhiro Takemoto, who is known for his work on Suzumiya, Hyouka, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Lucky Star, and much, much, more).
