I could have sworn I saw it on Hulu but idk when I tried to look for it, it didn't show up for some reason but anyway yeah I ended up watching this on Kissanime
Watching seasonals while they're airing is actually more fascinating than I thought, because I think I used to care a lot about what other people are saying about the anime and whatnot... but with all the anime from this season I'm watching so far, I actually don't really care all that much about their Kissanime comments idk. I guess because just the fact that they're airing right now and are this season is already good enough of a reason for my logical mind to just keep watching

Anyway yeah this anime seems kind of weird. It really seems like it's really an anime for real animators or aspiring animators at least. But it does seem to have positive reviews for the first episode even for nonanimators? so that's something. I guess I enjoyed this. I just... didn't really know what to expect I guess is all.

As the art style itself goes well beyond the girls. Personally I think the style is very befitting to the nature and theme of the show. It mixes very clean, simple, and flat, with scenes, backgrounds, and moments filled with great complexity and detail. And its all super deliberate, whether it was when they were watching the conan anime on the big screen, which was completely flat and even moved liked old anime all to show it was an anime in an anime to us viewers. Or when its the juxtaposition of the Very cleanly drawn girls in the roughed out sketch world to show its in their imaginary world. I get the want to have a waifu filled anime, where every girl in the nerdy little club is a 10. But often that ends up lacking character, and this show is all about character. So instead they made some girls who look different be the different girls, and it feels more real for it, despite all the surrealism. I also like that that to really drive it home they gave them more unique and realistic voices, rather than the very pretend-time cute anime voices we are all accustom to. The shows style is a real treat, and I think if you can look past the lack of homogenized hotties I think you might come to appreciate the style too. 7 • Reply • Share › Avatar 2B or not 2B Toxicvoice • 11 days ago • edited I personally LOOOVE artstyle not every anime needs have "cute" design in order look beautiful, is same reason why I love movie Akira and TV show Kaiji art direction. 5 • Reply • Share › Avatar Kranesh 2B or not 2B • 11 days ago • edited Indeed, there are many amazing shows that don't have the "cute" or "stylish" design typically found in many productions of the anime industry, take for example FLC, Mob Psycho, Devilman Crybaby, Ping Pong, among other AAA productions with similar artstyle that clearly became cult classics at this point. 3 • Reply • Share › Avatar Kamar Alsamerraey Kranesh • 10 days ago Great list there!
