lmao I totally forgot these people CRY OVER EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING!! lol They're all so over the top, their emotions - If I'm remembering correctly, I think I always wanted Ayase to end up with Arata, back when I was watching season 2 of this, which I think was several years ago, and I pretty much hated Taichi for some reason I even I don't remember. I think I left season 2 thinking it's probably pretty obvious that Ayase will end up being with Taichi though. Arata and Ayase really lost a lot of time and have a lot of catching up to do. Not to mention that they barely even see each other, while Ayase and Taichi pretty much see each other every single day at school and karuta games and practices and tournaments so But you know considering how Arata is one of the best characters and one of my favorite characters of all time, I just think he's so cool! And dreamy~!, I'd now say probably I'd want Ayase to end up with Taichi and then I'll keep my crush and man of my dreams Arata all to myself *_* lmao And then I remember there was like a girl with black, long hair who looked like she would be a good pair for Arata... Not sure if I meant as a couple or as karuto partners or rivals or all the above or what. I'd say I mostly meant as a couple though. lol Honestly tbh I don't know if I even finished the second season, now that I think about it.. I feel like I did though. Either way, that's not changing the fact that I'm definitely going to watch all of what's available of Season 3 right now, which is the first 5 episodes Then I'll probably go backtrack and see if I really finished season 2 or not lol It kind of bothers me that I can't even remember if I finished season 2 or not (I'm so sorry if any of this I'm saying and all my opinions aren't all that correct. Honestly I'm just going purely by memory so lmao) - I'm looking at the episode guide on wikipedia for the Chihayafuru season 2 finale episode it says: "26 "My Life Passes By in Vain as I Watch the Long Rains Fall" Transcription: "Waga mi yo ni furu nagame seshi ma ni" (Japanese: わがみよにふるながめせしまに) Hideki Hosokawa Morio Asaka Sumino Kawashima September 13, 2013 (OVA) During the time Chihaya is in the hospital, the karuta club discusses what to do for the upcoming cultural festival. Attempting to use the opportunity to get closer to Taichi, Sumire suggests putting on a Heian era-themed play based on The Tale of Genji, with herself as the female lead and Taichi as Genji. Kana, however, seeing an opportunity to get Chihaya and Taichi together, suggests Chihaya for the female lead. Ultimately Sumire settles for all the other club members playing Genji's many lovers, including Nishida, Komano, and Tsukuba dressed in drag. The club spends the rest of their meager annual budget on two flats for the play, but a typhoon destroys them. Sumire and Chihaya end up doing a short karuta-themed comedy piece with Nishida as Genji on the proscenium without a set. Arata laments that he continues not to get any screen time." And I remember that episode name!!! But I remember it as "In idle thought, my life passes." And I checked to see if that title was more similar to other episode titles... I don't think so. But the episode is about a play; I don't remember any play... I guess that's the real problem when you're trying to watch a show with this long of a break in between, like 5 to 6 years or so. A lot of the plot starts to become fuzzy and hazy. I guess I'm going to rewatch a few Chihayafuru episodes here and there after I finish watching the first 5 episodes in the latest season 3 - LOLOL lmaoo Did Ayase's karuta instructor really call Taichi "Eyebrows" and LMAO why doesn't he know any of their names lol does he know Ayase's name? I totally forgot how funny this anime is too! - uwa... I forgot how much I love Fukui-ben. I mean ofc there's no way I would ever forget that I love Fukui-ben; it's just hearing it again really takes me back to Chihayafuru Season 1!!! I love Fukui-ben so much. It sounds completely different from the standard Japanese by the book and how I learned Japanese through a textbook Japanese from Tokyo and the only other dialect I'm relatively familiar with in Japanese is Osaka-ben. Fukui-ben really sounds like it's its own language, really. It even has its own distinct accent from everything else! It's such a shame that dialect is looked down upon in the anime, and I can't help but unfortunately think that that's actually how Japanese in the city probably feel about that dialect as well. But Fukui-ben is so beautiful !!!
